Occasional Workshops
In addition to her regular classes, Philippa is often invited to teaches Baroque and historical dance workshops for dancers, musicians, actors and other interested groups. If you are interested in organising a workshop, either private or open, please see our page on inviting Philippa to teach.

Baroque Dance Summer School 2010

Our annual summer school is suitable for all levels from the complete beginner to the professional performer. Attendance is flexible so that students can attend for a few days as a short course, or for the full ten days.

Tredegar House, Newport, South Wales
At a time when Britain ruled the waves, Tredegar House was alive with balls.
Join us to learn waltzes and polkas before sampling some period food and drink.
Complete beginners welcome, no previous dance experience required.

The Roaring 20s

Tredegar House, Newport, South Wales
The wildest parties seen at Tredegar House were at the beginning of the 20th century with the bright young things. Join us to learn dances, including the Charleston, followed by a chance to sample some period drinks and nibbles.
Complete beginners welcome, no previous dance experience required.

Big Dance Workshops
As part of Big Dance Week 2010, Philippa will be teaching two free drop-in evening workshops in London.
Monday 5th July, 8:30–9:30: A 15th-Century group dance (to be decided)
Tuesday 6th July, 8:30–9:30: The 18th-Century Ballroom Minuet
Complete beginners welcome.
Both workshops will take place at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art's Bancroft Studio.

Have you ever wanted to be transported back in time to dance with Mr Darcy? Now is your chance to learn some Regency steps and dance in the elegant New Hall at Tredegar House, before sampling some food and drink of the period in the Servants' Hall.

Benslow Baroque Opera Project
5th to 11th April 2010
Benslow Music Trust, Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Philippa will be choreographer and dance tutor for the Benslow Baroque Opera production of Dido and Aeneas.
A residential course for singers, instrumentalists, and dancers, leading to two public performances on 10th April.
Spring Baroque Dance Workshop in the USA
22nd to 26th March 2010
Philippa teaches an annual spring workshop for all levels in Ashland, Oregon.

Polly's Pastimes
An educational event for children aged 7–12
from the English National Ballet and Benjamin Franklin House.
Tuesday 16th February 2010
English National Ballet will offer artistic educational activities themed on the 18th Century including an exciting opportunity to witness the fashions of the time, including wigs and makeup, partake in period dancing, and take a look at Franklin's musical invention, the glass armonica.
